Marking 200 years of diplomatic ties between two countries, the United Kingdom and Nepal, the Britain Nepal Medical Trust organised a program “Health Link Nepal” at Hotel Shangri-La, Lazimpart on October 31, 2014. His Excellency Andrew James Sparkes, the British Ambassador to Nepal, launched the website healthlinknepal.org at the event. Apart from the launch of the website, the trust also had its first discussion series during the program.

The speakers for the first discussions were Prof. Dr Upendra Devkota, Prof. Dr Madhu Dixit Devkota, and Dr Buddha Basnyat. They discussed free health care services vs universal health coverage and UK–Nepal links in health research.
